Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration to commemorate the Mexican Army's difficult victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza and Denver is known for having one of the largest celebrations in the nation. Plus this year, the holiday also falls on a Saturday (which also happens to be Derby Day) so there are plenty of spots around town to raise your glass in victory. The main event is the Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival is Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, at the Civic Center Park. Attendance is free at this event, one of the largest cultural events in Colorado, with more than 400,000 visitors each year. Enjoy live entertainment on three stages, hundreds of exhibitors, great food and drink, children's activities, a parade and the hotly contested green chili cook off.

Aurora Cinco de Mayo is scheduled for 12 pm to 8 pm Saturday May 5, at Fletcher Plaza, 9898 East Colfax Ave. This will be their first Cinco de Mayo so expect lots of fun entertainment and food.
Cinco de Mayo is almost here and the Bethany Evangelical Free Church at 6240 South Broadway is having a Cinco de Mayo Carnival Sunday, May 6, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Castle Rock Cinco de Mayo Street Party, is Saturday, May 5, from 5 pm to 10 pm in Downtown Castle Rock on Wilcox Street between 3rd and 5th Streets. Enjoy free bounce houses, live music, family activities and on site food vendors. This event is free to attend.
Longmont Celebrates Cinco de Mayo, Saturday, May 5, from 11 am to 6 pm with food, shopping, live entertainment, a car show, a chihuahua beauty contest and free family activities at Roosevelt Park at 700 Longs Peak Ave.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the Outlets at Castle Rock. at 5050 Factory Shops Blvd. Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, from 12 pm to 3 pm.
